Le
Comte Michel de Peyrelongue : Owner / CEO
In
1947, on graduating from an agricultural college (ESAP), Michel de Peyrelongue
immediately modernises and replants the family
vineyard.
By
that time, only
49 acres of vines were left, planted under the monarchy, which
produced 200 hectolitres of a really delicious sweet white wine.
However the fashion for this style of wine was past and it was
necessary to change to meet the challenge of new markets. That is
why he planted sauvignon and classic red varieties, thus renewing
and adding fresh vigour to the wine growing tradition of Péchaurieux.
The
estate has been managed and modernised with a stable overview. The
vine has been cultivated in harmony with the site and respecting
the environment: careful, up to date winemaking without the excesses of
modern fads. The wine is bottled at the Château, guaranteeing
both quality and
authenticity.
